Giuseppe Zanotti Design
Giuseppe Zanotti was born in San Mauro Pascoli, a small village on the Adriatic Riviera, a few kilometers away from Fellini’s Rimini. His strong passion for music, fashion and art drives him towards the world of beauty and accessories in the early Eighties. Enchanted by feet and native to a village of luxury shoemaking tradition, he starts his career as a freelance designer working with fashion Maisons like Valentino, Thierry Mugler, Missoni, Dior, Roberto Cavalli, Ferré until today, with Balmain, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Christopher Kaine and Delfina Delettrez.
The big leap, however, comes in 1994 when he decides to take over a small shoemaking company Vicini and devote to an ambitious project: designing and manufacturing his own shoes. So, with a small workshop employing 15 people, including a jeweler, a heel and tree expert and an embroiderer, he starts his challenge with passion and steadfastness and presents his first spring summer 2004 collection. His first collection is launched in New York City and his temporary showroom is just a room in the Plaza Hotel. American customers receive his work enthusiastically right away. Since then, the most prestigious world department stores like Saks, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Lane Crowford, Holt Renfrew, etc. have been proposing Giuseppe Zanotti Design collections every season for their customers.
